3-Ingredient Eggless Crepes 🥞
These simple eggless crepes are thin, soft, and lightly golden. You only need three basic ingredients, making them perfect for a quick breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
1½ cups milk
-
2 tablespoons melted butter or neutral oil
1. Make the Batter
Add the flour and milk to a bowl. Whisk until smooth and there are no large lumps.
Slowly whisk in the melted butter or oil.
The batter should be thin and pourable, similar to heavy cream. If it seems too thick, add another tablespoon or two of milk.
2. Heat the Pan
Place a nonstick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
You only need a very thin layer of butter or oil.
3. Cook the Crepes
Pour about ÂĽ cup of batter into the center of the hot pan.
Immediately swirl the pan to spread the batter into a thin, even circle.
Cook for about 1–2 minutes, until the edges look dry and the underside is lightly golden.
4. Flip
Carefully loosen the edges with a spatula and flip the crepe.
Cook the other side for about 30–60 seconds.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
5. Fill and Serve
For a sweet version, try:
-
Fresh strawberries and cream
-
Banana and chocolate
-
Honey and chopped nuts
-
Jam and powdered sugar
-
Cinnamon and sugar
For a savory version, fill them with cheese, sautéed vegetables, mushrooms, or cooked chicken.
Tips for Soft Crepes
-
Let the batter rest for 10–15 minutes if you have time.
-
Keep the crepes thin by swirling the pan immediately.
-
Don’t use excessive heat; they can brown before cooking properly.
-
Stack finished crepes on a plate and cover them with a clean towel to keep them soft.
Bottom Line
With just flour, milk, and butter or oil, you can make tender eggless crepes that work equally well with sweet or savory fillings.
