Crock Pot Pull-Apart Bread With Just 3 Ingredients

This easy recipe turns frozen bread dough into warm, soft, pull-apart bread with very little effort. The slow cooker does most of the work.

Ingredients

  • 2–3 frozen raw bread dough loaves, thawed according to package directions

  • ½ cup melted butter

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

1. Prepare the Dough

Thaw the frozen bread dough according to the package instructions. Cut or tear each loaf into smaller pieces.

2. Add the First Layer

Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Place some of the dough pieces into the bottom, leaving room for the dough to expand.

3. Make the Sweet Mixture

Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir until well mixed.

4. Layer Everything

Drizzle some of the butter mixture over the dough. Add another layer of dough and repeat until everything is in the crock pot.

Don’t fill the slow cooker more than about halfway, because the dough will expand considerably.

5. Let It Rise

Cover the slow cooker and allow the dough to rise in a warm spot according to the dough package instructions. Rising time can vary depending on the type of frozen dough and room temperature.

6. Cook

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on LOW for approximately 2–3 hours, checking toward the end. The bread should be cooked through and no longer doughy in the center.

Because slow cookers vary, the first batch may require some adjustment to the cooking time.

7. Finish and Serve

Carefully remove the bread and let it cool for several minutes. Pull apart the pieces and serve warm.

Easy Additions

You can add chopped pecans or walnuts, raisins, chocolate chips, or a little vanilla to the butter mixture for a different flavor.

Do not put frozen dough directly into the crock pot and expect it to cook properly. Thaw and allow it to rise according to the dough manufacturer’s instructions first. Also avoid opening the lid repeatedly while cooking, as this releases heat and can increase cooking time.

The result is a soft, sweet, pull-apart cinnamon bread that requires much less hands-on work than traditional homemade bread.
