Here’s the classic retro party favorite everyone still devours — Hanky Panky Bites. Cheesy, savory, and dangerously snackable. 🧀🥩


Hanky Panky Bites

Ingredients (Makes ~40 bites)

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage (mild or hot)
  • 1 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • 1 loaf cocktail rye bread (or party rye)

Instructions

1. Brown the Meat

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and sausage together.
  • Drain excess grease.

2. Add Cheese

  • Reduce heat to low.
  • Stir in cubed Velveeta until fully melted and smooth.

3. Assemble

  • Preheat oven to 375°F / 190°C.
  • Place rye bread slices on a baking sheet.
  • Spoon 1–2 tablespoons of meat-cheese mixture onto each slice.

4. Bake

  • Bake 10–12 minutes, until bubbly and lightly crisp on the edges.

5. Serve

  • Serve hot — they disappear fast!

Make-Ahead & Party Tips

  • Meat mixture can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 2 days
  • Assemble and bake just before serving
  • Keep warm in a slow cooker on LOW

  • Spicy: Use hot sausage or add crushed red pepper
  • Extra cheesy: Mix in shredded cheddar
  • Mini sliders: Serve on small Hawaiian rolls
