Posted on January 16, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a delicious, cozy recipe for Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy—perfect for a hearty meal with minimal effort. 🍗🥘

Crock Pot Chicken and Gravy

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening, optional)
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Slow Cooker

  1. Spray the crock pot with non-stick cooking spray or lightly grease it.

2. Add Ingredients

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot.
  2. Pour cream of mushroom soup and chicken broth over the chicken.
  3. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir gently to combine.

3. Cook

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.

4. Make the Gravy

  1. Optional: For thicker gravy, remove chicken and stir cornstarch + water into the liquid.
  2. Cook on high for 5–10 minutes until thickened.

5. Serve

  • Serve chicken with gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Tips for Best Results

  • For extra flavor: Sear chicken in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side before adding to the crock pot.
  • Vegetable add-ins: Add sliced mushrooms, carrots, or peas during the last hour of cooking.
  • Make-ahead: Can be made the night before; just reheat gently.

If you want, I can also give a “dump-and-go 4-ingredient version” that’s just as creamy and flavorful but even easier—perfect for busy nights.

Do you want me to do that?
